JCSO drug bust includes pain pills
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office said it executed a search warrant at the Woodridge Apartments in Ridgeland at 3:30 a.m. Friday and charged Jason Spann, 30, of Ridgeland, with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of schedule I-IV narcotics.
Sheriff Chris Malphrus said deputies found marijuana and several pain medications, including Tramadol.
“Pain medications are one of our biggest issues,” Malphrus said. “Every time we make a drug bust, pain medications have been a consistent thing.”
Malphrus said Spann has been charged with distribution in the past. The JCSO learned of possible drug activity about two weeks ago. Malphrus said the JCSO also found other items, including baggies and a scale.
