Sheriff: Crack cocaine, Xanax, Oxycontin pills seized in Hardeeville
Calling the residence "a menace to the area," Jasper County Sheriff Chris Malphrus said his office confiscated 52 grams of marijuana, 4 grams of crack cocaine, 13 Xanax pills and four Oxycontin pills from 304 Church Road in Hardeeville.
According to Malphrus, on Friday the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation involving suspected narcotic sales from the home. During the investigation, the JCSO determined several people were involved in the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics from the house.
Around 12 a.m. Saturday, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the residence on Church Road where Marovich Roshawn Brown, 42, of 304 Church Road, was found inside, Malphrus said.
In addition to finding marijuana, crack cocaine and pills, Malphrus said a search of the house revealed two pistols and a small amount of powder cocaine.
All of the narcotics found were bagged and packaged for sale and distribution, according to Malphrus.
Also found were four sets of scales and several baggies used for packaging.
Brown was charged with possession of cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession with the intent to distribute schedule II controlled substances, Malphrus said.
Malphrus said the house had been on his radar for several weeks. He said his office had received complaints about the residence and has had its eyes on it for "a while."
Malphrus said the JCSO is looking to identify others suspected of selling narcotics from the Church Road home.
