SLED seeks arson suspect in 2015 nightclub fire

The S.C. Law Enforcement Division Arson Unit and Crime Stoppers seeks the public’s help locating a suspect involved in two arson incidents at Karma Entertainment on Speedway Boulevard in Hardeeville on Oct. 16, 2015.

SLED says the suspect is a male wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and a baseball cap. He is possibly driving a late model, silver Dodge Charger with a black or dark-color roof.

In the days after the incident, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office said the first fire was reported at 12:30 a.m. Oct. 16, and a second was reported at 7:16 a.m. the same day.

A Karma employee was able to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher in the first attempt during which the club was open and had numerous customers inside, officials said. The second fire caused cosmetic damage to the outside of the building.
