Traffic Stop yields seizure of narcotics.
A traffic stop on Tuesday Aug. 1 by the Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Team led to the arrest of 27-year old Juan Marquis Clarke of Hilton Head at the intersection of Bees Creek Road and Fordville Road, cops said.
Clarke, the driver of a white Ford Explorer and sole occupant of the vehicle, was initially stopped for a headlight violation. But Clarke was later arrested for driving under suspension third offense. Upon his arrest, a conducted search found Clarke was in possession of narcotics and marijuana, the JCSO said. 4.5 grams of marijuana, 2.8 grams of meth, 20 Xanax pills, one morphine pill, and 4.5 grams of MDMA (also known as Ecstasy) were seized.
Clarke was charged with driving under suspension, third offense, simple possession off marijuana, possession of schedule two narcotics, possession with intent to distribute MDMA, possession with intent to distribute meth, and trafficking schedule IV narcotics.
