Sheriff’s Office investigates armed robbery
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office seeks suspects in an Aug. 10 armed robbery in Levy.
At 1:20 p.m., the JCSO said it received a call from the Dollar General at 3424 South Okatie Hwy.
Once on scene, deputies learned two males are suspected of entering the store wearing hoodies pulled tight over their faces. One man was armed with a handgun, a Sheriff’s Office news release said.
The men made the employees empty the cash register. They then ran to a getaway car. No shots were fired.
Cops says a witness noted there was a third man sitting inside a white standard cab, short bed Toyota pickup that picked up the two men.
The witness said the vehicle turned south on Okatie Highway headed toward Savannah.
