The John Paul II Catholic School football team will hold a football camp, June 26-30, at the school’s athletic field for boys in second through eighth grades.

Registration is the morning of camp and will cost $20 per day or $100 for the week per participant.

Head coach Kevin Wald and the Golden Warriors staff will introduce basic fundamentals to include throwing, catching, kicking, blocking, tackling and agility.

There will be an introduction to basic strength and conditioning. Daily competitions will be held for participants to put into practice newly learned skills.

“We are excited to provide an opportunity for all kids to get out and learn the game of football at a very reasonable price,” Wald said.

SFCA sets volleyball homecourt debut

Step of Faith Christian Academy’s first official regular season contest in its new gym is set for August.

The Chargers, who unveiled the $1.1 million gym in May with a public gathering, are scheduled to host Victory Christian in a SCACS volleyball match 4 p.m., Aug. 18. A preseason tournament is planned for Aug. 5, but the games start to count with the official debut Aug. 18.

There are eight scheduled home games. The second home contest is Sept. 1.
