SCISA Class A playoffs: Dillon Christian 35, John Paul II 0
John Paul II’s football season ended Friday night with a 35-0 loss to Dillon Christian in a SCISA Class A first-round playoff game.
The visiting fourth-seeded Golden Warriors (6-5), who qualified for the playoffs in their second 11-man season, were led by Zach Doe’s 101 yards on 26 carries.
John Paul trailed 14-0 late in the first half and had first-and-10 at Dillon’s 11-yard line with 5 seconds remaining in the second quarter, but failed on a fourth-and-6 attempt.
Dillon Christian (9-2), a No. 1 seed, scored on its first possession of the second half to lead 21-0. The Golden Warriors, facing fourth-and-12 on the next possession, ran a fake punt but Melik Frost only gained 10 yards.
Dillon Christian then went ahead 28-0 on a 55-yard scoring pass. DC took a 35-0 lead with three minutes remaining in the third quarter.
